The Dallas metro is a major hub on the transcontinental
internet superhighway and provides exceptional national (and world)
connectivity with fast, low-latency connections. AT&T is headquartered
in Dallas and is one of the world’s largest Tier 1 / ISP’s and operates a
nationwide fiber network.
Moreover, Dallas is the headquarters of the new Texas Stock
Exchange which is on track to launch trading in 2026. The selection of the Dallas metro as it’s headquarters is supported by the availability of fast low low-latency network connections to the world’s financial markets.
My home office is serviced by 1 GB AT&T fiber internet. Additionally, internet and power are provided underground in my area, providing insulation from
weather and other common service disruptions.
The AT&T fiber access point in my office is directly connected to a 10G
network switch providing 10GB connections to six wired primary computers.
Wifi is NOT used for any mission-critical work.
Installed network computers include two custom-built editing stations
featuring premium Asus motherboards and Intel i9 processors, stuffed with maximum RAM and NVMe / SSD solid state storage. A compliment of large monitors (27-inch plus) gives a comprehensive view of program and network status. Moreover, each computer has it’s individual APC UPS
providing emergency standby power.
Additional computers include a late model Mac Pro and a HP desktop
workstation featuring multiple NVMe storage.
